madebywave is a hand crafted beach and travel accessories label that celebrates living an authentic life in colour. Founded by Victoria Bakir, a former travel writer and journalist, the brand blends traditional Indonesian craftsmanship with the modern aesthetics of a global traveller.

 

The brand's 2017 debut collection includes a range of ethically sourced sarongs in five colourways, each one hand-dyed and hand-woven by Indonesian artisans. It takes up to two days to weave each piece using patterns that merge traditional elements from Sumba island with modern elements. The product range also includes handmade straw clutch bags and beach bags in large and medium sizes, complemented by a series of colourful intricate beadwork charms.   ​​
